History

Bishopswood Bowling club was opened in 1935.The members were made up of people who held high positions in the council, and the city of London. The membership was very selective and only people who had high positions in politics and industry were admitted.

Thank goodness those days are over! We are a friendly and informal club that welcomes new and existing members from any age (from less than 10 through to over 100), boys and girls, men and women and from all backgrounds and with a system that encourages them to bowl regularly whether it’s for roll-ups, leagues or competitions. It is an ideal opportunity to meet people, make new friends and to enjoy the company of others both on the bowling green and over a cup of tea or a drink.

The club is situated in a lovely setting within the Lyttelton Playing Fields in the heart of Hampstead Garden Suburb.

In the 2020 season, we upgraded our clubhouse so that both visiting teams and members will have more space.
